Therapy Options

Psychotherapy

Make powerful, lasting changes in your life by discovering your true self, healing what ails you and removing the obstacles in your path. We at Coastwise Counseling are strengths-based therapists who will support your vision, purpose and goals as you step into more meaningful, authentic relationships and a personal power - that will also free others. Psychotherapy is supportive in a range of problems from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addiction, and challenging relationships.

Couples and Marriage Counseling

Improve your communication skills. Learn to get what you need in your partnership, negotiate differences, mend ruptures in trust, improve your level of connection, sexually and otherwise, and develop insight into how your family of origin issues may be negatively affecting your relationship.

Couples counseling is typically structured and action-oriented. Often, one partner is more motivated to receive services in the beginning. Do not be deterred. This type of experience can be life-changing. In some cases, the result is a conscious and loving separation.

Group Therapy

Group therapy sessions circle around specific needs and themes in the community. This type of treatment brings you into contact with people who struggle with similar issues, and participation in a group creates a sense of universality and hope. By interacting with other people and receiving feedback from the group and the therapist, members of the group can gain a greater understanding of themselves.

Coastwise Counseling Center also offers a HIMS Aftercare group for aviation pilots with Substance abuse issues that focuses on helping pilots stay sober and earn back their flight privileges. Additionally, Pilots will receive quarterly letters to their AME who corresponds with the FAA. If you are a pilot in need of such service please call today to join the group.

Emotional Transformation Therapy

Emotional Transformation Therapy or ETT incorporates the use of light, color wavelengths, and eye movements to rapidly transform emotional distress and related physical pain into a positive emotional state. ETT expedites the healing process so that our clients receive benefits more quickly and efficiently.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is a deep psychotherapeutic process that can produce rapid improvement for a number of conditions, including depression, anxiety, suicidality, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder and more. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy can be supportive for end of life care.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is compatible with most other psychiatric medicines, and it can create powerful, sustained healing when all other traditional interventions fail.

Unlike the IV medical model, sessions are conducted with the support of a therapist and a physician. Sessions that include medicine last 3 hours, and the experience is focused on therapy.

We support your process throughout with integrative sessions, email and phone contact. Our team collaborates with your psychiatrists and therapists when needed.

Expenses tend to be more with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy than with the IV method. The cost of treatment relates to the thoroughness of our work and the long duration of the sessions--with two practitioners in attendance with you.

We provide our best efforts to have you receive insurance reimbursement. Discussion of fees is an option.

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback works by measuring your brainwaves with sensors on your scalp and converting your brainwaves into visual and auditory feedback. Each program will begin with a quantitative EEG to identify how your brain functions during moments of focus and moments of stress. During a session you will watch and listen to your brainwaves in real-time and your brain will understand which brainwaves and mental states are associated with healthier, optimal brain function, and be rewarded for beneficial brainwave activity. An experienced Neurofeedback specialist will customize a program to your specific goals and growth areas so that you can get the most value from your sessions in a relatively short amount of time. Neurofeedback is a powerful, non-invasive, modality designed to help you feel less anxiety, pay better attention, get high-quality sleep and feel happier more often.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Trauma sensitive yoga gently invites individuals back to a felt experience in the body that is choice-based and empowering. The practice works to shift the individual’s relationship with his or her body into a friendly one while improving self-regulatory skills. A TSY session can be a helpful way to begin or end a psychotherapy session.

Mindfulness

Develop a mindfulness practice by learning to meditate. Mindfulness improves overall mood, sleep cycles, digestion, energy levels and lengthens attention span. Studies even show that meditation can extend your life expectancy.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine offer a complete holistic medical system that allows us to understand how emotions manifest in the body.

We often recommend an Acupuncture session before or after your therapy appointments. Treatments prior to therapy allow for deeper relaxation, which can help you open up more in a therapy session. Treatments can also assist with integration and processing in the nervous system at the close of a therapy session.

Nutrition

You are what you eat. Let us help you feel better by learning how to properly nourish your body. We have a satellite nutritionist who can work with you to create a food plan designed for your optimal functioning.
